WELCOME TO THE YELLOWSTONE COUNTY CERT WEBSITE!
The Yellowstone County
CERT programs goal is to promote proactive involvement of private citizens,
business groups, civic organizations and schools in homeland security and integrated
emergency management.
Yellowstone County CERT members are
trained and challenged to better prepare their homes, neighborhoods, and place
of business for emergency or disaster situations. CERT volunteers are not intended
to replace the community's response capability, but rather, to serve as an important
supplement to it.
The CERT Program is about reclaiming
the American tradition of neighbor helping neighbor. It's about preparing responsibly
to serve your community when disaster strikes. It's about taking what we learned
from September 11th and empowering the residents of our community to help each
other during critical times.
Community Emergency Response Team
(CERT) training involves a 9 module, 20 hour course of instruction and practical
exercise. CERT trainers are local firefighters, sheriff's deputies, paramedics,
and from organizations such as the American Red Cross. For more background and
course curriculum information concerning Community Emergency Response Team Training
please refer to the Links page of this website.
