Sheriff's Vehicle Auction The Sheriff's Sale will be held May 17, 2008 at the County Impound Yard (1200 Shiloh Rd.). The sale will begin at 10:00am, and vehicles will be available for inspection at 9:00am the day of the sale. Cash or check only, minimum bid is $100 per vehicle. All vehicles sold "as is" with no guarantee to condition or title. You may download the list of vehicles up for auction on the Sheriff's web site. Yellowstone County Compensation Board The Yellowstone County Commissioners are currently looking for a citizen representative to be on the Yellowstone County Compensation Board. The Yellowstone County Compensation Board is comprised of the three county commissioners, three county officials, the county attorney and two resident taxpayers. The county commissioners appoint the three county officials and two resident taxpayers. The resident taxpayers are appointed to a three-year term. The county compensation board holds hearings annually for the purpose of reviewing the compensation paid to county officers. The board may consider the compensation paid to comparable officials in other Montana counties, other states, state government, federal government and private enterprises. The county compensation board shall prepare a compensation schedule for the elected county officials, including the county attorney, for the succeeding fiscal year. A recommended compensation schedule requires a majority vote of the county compensation board and at least two county commissioners must be included in the majority.
